Corrugated firm The Boxshop has claimed a first for independent Scottish boxmakers after achieving FSC certification.
The firm, based in East Kilbride, has claimed to be the first independent Scottish corrugated business to achieve the chain-of-custody accreditation, which certifies the provenance of its paper stocks as being sustainable.
Director Douglas Lamb said: “This certification was a natural next step from our ISO14001 Environmental Certification which we have had in place for some time.
“We also wanted to ensure that we remained ahead of customer requirements and be in a position to offer FSC certified packaging as demand increases.”
The Boxshop makes over 39 million boxes a year and serves customers throughout Scotland and northern England.
It also has a dedicated warehouse servicing the north-east of Scotland from Aberdeen to north of Inverness as well as a joint venture manufacturing company in the Liverpool area, eCorrugated.
